Dumbest Thing I've ever done....

http://wordonthestreetto.blogspot.com/

Ok... so was just talking to someone yesterday and I remember the dumbest thing that I've ever done, well at least that I'm going to share. Thought it would be worth the entertainment...Here goes....

So I wake up when I lived in an apartment a while back and I usually have cereal for breakfast. However the night before I had turned the temperature down in the fridge cause I thought that it was warm. This morning however... I opened the fridge and it was extremely cold.

I got the milk out for my cereal and I noticed that the milk had become like a slushy- packed with ice. I was in a complete rush for work so I thought what to do. I was like well I cold put it into the microwave but I figured that wouldn't be such a good idea!

So I decided that what I would do is turn on the stove....the burners (the big one) and turn it to max. I then got a cookie sheet cause i was thinking well how am I going to make my milk thaw in a hurry. I put the cookie sheet on the burner and then got the milk. I didn't take the bag out of the plastic container though- good thing. I put the plastic container on top of the cookie sheet which was on the stove and went back to my computer for 5 minutes. By this point the entire apartment was smoking and I was panicked. I ran to the kitchen to see what the problem was...

Imagine this.... the cookies sheet that was on the burner was smoking up badly. I took the slightly melted milk container off the cookie sheet/burner and I was so panicked that I threw the cookie sheet onto the wood floor (because it was so HOT). Then I went to tend to the melting milk container to realize that the wooden floor was now smoking because the bottom of the cookie sheet was seriously hot and charred with the contents of the stove burner. I ended up creating a large hole in the floor which I had to have repaired.

Lesson learn.... the correct method would have been to just let it sit on the counter and thaw and have it the next morning. But I love doing things the hard way.

Don't try this at home!!!
